I originally ordered the 2012 version and you can read my less than favorable review of that version. I saw that I could freely upgrade to the 2013 version and did so in hope it was a better product. The first thing to note is the 2012 product will not fully uninstall if you use the standard removal methods (start menu -> uninstall, or control panel -> remove). You must download a removal tool from BitDefender to completely remove the 2012 version.

As for the 2013 product, the user interface is improved from the earlier version, however, it still has performance issues and technical support is woeful. (They're exceptionally difficult to contact and you will not get your problem resolved. I have managed to contact them about a couple of items and the response was totally unrelated to the issue.) There have been very few software essentials that are more important than the antivirus essentials. Bitdefnder has been heavily overshadowed at making and delivering for so many computer users in good software. But nevertheless, they have deliver very well in regards to what has been the best in computer security from damaged viruses and malware. Their 2013 Antivirus Plus continues that tradition very well, at searching for the best in protection, without slowing down on the computers' other programs. It works very well with Firefox and internet explorer, so you simply surf the web, without slowdowns that are as drastic as Norton or other brands. I have always liked Bitdefender, because they have made simple and easy to use programs that are worth their money. This definitely follows in suit well. I definitely suggest you give Bitdefender a shot, and see if it works for you.

Bitdefender Antivirus 2013 blocked uploads from my computer. I tried to get a solution from their support.

However, Bitdefender's customer service is the worst I have ever experienced. First they claimed they were having server problems, and that's why they didn't respond. Next they claimed that my emails must have been "lost" and that's why no one responded. After that, every reply from them was to ask about the issue I was having, as if they had never heard from me before.

After one month, not a single solution was offered except to uninstall the program. Just terrible service and a waste of money.

Please do not purchase any Bitdefender product. I don't want anyone else to have to go through this.
